Dear Julia
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your campaign and excellent blog. I really wish you the best of luck, although luck is not what's required. You certainly have persistence and you are right to ask why you should have to devote your life to the defence of your son when ordinary criminals have a right to a legal defence. The problem appears to be that he has committed no crime and cannot therefore mount a legal defence, which sounds like an utter nightmare - Kafkaesque, as Zac Goldsmith puts it! I have an 18-year-old son, I have no idea what he is up to in his room, he is technically an adult, but he has a computer and rebellious opinions that I probably have indulged him in. I constantly fear him doing or saying something stupid, now that we are all criminals in the eyes of the US-backed British Government. 'Careless talk costs lives'... and how.
